Should Be So

應(yīng)當如此?!爱斎弧背S脕砻枋鍪挛飸?yīng)當以如此的方式存在或運行,人應(yīng)當以如此的方式行事。應(yīng)當如此也包含著某種正當?shù)摹⒑侠淼囊饬x。事物運行、人之行事應(yīng)該遵循著正當?shù)?、合理的方式或?guī)則。宋代大儒朱熹(1130—1200)認為,這種“當然”的規(guī)則源自“天理”,是“天理”的具體呈現(xiàn)。因此,對“當然”的規(guī)則的探究也成為“窮理”的主要內(nèi)容。

Dangran?(當然), literally meaning "should be so," is often used to describe the fact that something should exist or work in a specific manner, or the fact that someone should behave in a certain way. It implies some degree of legitimacy and reasonableness, indicating that the functioning of things and the conduct of people should adhere to legitimate rules and reasonable manners. The Song Dynasty scholar Zhu Xi (1130-1200) believed that these rules come from and embody?tianli?(天理the natural principles). Therefore, exploring the rules of dangran is the primary focus of?qiongli?(窮理exhausting principles).
